Jenny Russell is our new
Community Support and Engagement Facilitator based in Emerald.
Her role for the next 12
months will be developed against the outcomes that are to be
delivered by Caring for Our Country funding, and BDTNRM long term
outcomes. Jenny has come on board to develop and support
networks, identify and develop partnerships, provide
community support, develop and share community understanding,
provide project support, facilitate feedback, promote NRM
AND BDTNRM.

Jenny has lived in Moree NSW for
the past three years, in a Community Engagement position, funded by
the National Landcare Program (NLP). She was placed
with a NSW regional body, namely the Catchment Management Authority
(CMA). Her role included working with community groups,
promotion of BMP and NRM, and was then extended to cotton industry
work (contract negotiation and writing, and project
management). Previous to this, she lived in the Northern
Rivers of NSW at Casino, the “Beef Capital”, and held
various positions including Field Officer with NSW State Forests
(wildlife surveying and commercial forestry work), various
laboratory jobs and volunteer work in Landcare. She is
originally from Canberra where she completed an Honours degree in
Science (Resource and Environmental Management), undertaking an
agroforestry project for her Honours thesis. She also held
numerous positions in Canberra, including several years of
community volunteer work.
